Finding a Specialist Trained in NLP

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

As humans, we have a tendency to do the same things each day, and our feelings tend to stay the same as well.  Unfortunately, we also tend to carry burdens with us throughout the years.  This is one of the basic concepts behind NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which is considered to be a form of hypnosis.  Many people have a tendency to stay focused on the same problem for many years.  If this is a problem for you, then continue reading for ways to find relief.

Doctors who study NLP look for problems that have a continuous pattern in their patient’s life.  The specialists go over in detail the pattern that their patient is using to cope with the problem, and they then teach them new ways of getting better.  They do not point out issues that the person needs to improve on, and it is in no way a method of making the person break down.  Instead, the doctors help their patients find themselves inside, and then teach them ways to live their lives to the fullest extent.

Treating a patient with the use of neuro-linguistic programming can be very tricky for the specialist.  Each human being that visits their office is unique, and each time, the doctor has to deal with the patient in a totally different way from the last person that they treated.  Even though the treatment is a form of hypnosis, the doctor cannot go through the basic motions that he or she does with each person.

The most common reasons patients seek help through forms of hypnosis are due to certain phobias, addictions, fears, over eating, fatty foods, or the non-ability to be social.  As mentioned earlier, it could be an underlying problem that has existed for years, particularly occurring during their childhood years.  Most doctors will say that the reason for the phobias, addictions, and so on, is due to the problems that the patient encountered in earlier years.  This is when hypnosis becomes useful.

Many people give up on changing or fixing their problems because they do not want to have to worry with finding a specialist or doctor.  Finding a person to help you is much easier than it might seem.  While you should still be wary about which specialist that you choose, you need to know where to start looking.  Often times, your family doctor can recommend a person.  On the other hand, if your doctor does not know of anyone, then you should seek a person that has the proper license to treat with NLP.  You might have to search in areas out of your home city.  The Society of NLP is among the most prestigious forms of training and license.

You should also be aware that being credited by the Society does not mean that the specialist is legitimate.  A rule of thumb is to seek a person who will only request payment if you receive the result that you expected.  Another important factor to look for is whether or not they are willing to treat you in a public place.  More than likely, your issues are caused and sparked by real life events.  Therefore, being out in public will bring those feelings to the surface and allow you to deal with them appropriately.

In order for the process of NLP to work, it is important that the person being treated realizes that their problems will not be erased.  They will still exist in their mind.  The only difference is that the person affected will be able to deal with the problems much easier than they would have if they had never had the hypnosis treatment.
